Police Services

The City contracts with the Orange County Sheriff's Department for its law enforcement needs. Captain Bill Burk serves as Chief of Police Services and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of law enforcement services in the City. Captain Burk manages a staff of five Sergeants, two Investigators, 17 Deputies (Patrol, Motor, School Resource Officer, Special Enforcement Team and Directed Enforcement Team), two Community Service Officers, and Crime Prevention Services. Additionally, the Sheriff's Department provides the City with further specialized units when necessary including Canine Patrol, Computer Crimes, Economic Crimes, Forensic Science Services, Gang Enforcement, Hazardous Devices, Helicopter Patrol, Homicide Detail, Major Accident Reconstruction Team, Mounted Patrol, Narcotics Detail, Sex Crimes, Family Violence, Special Enforcement Bureau, Crisis Negotiations Team, and the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center.
