The City of Laguna Hills has a Community Services, Historical, and Arts Commission and a Traffic Commission. The Commissions are advisory bodies to the City Council. Commissioners serve four-year terms. The Commission application process occurs in December of even-numbered years. The City Council interviews all those who have applied to serve on a Commission and makes the appointments.
